The life stages that genius goes through can be a wondrous disaster; such as being a kid without a care in the world to becoming an adult, going impinge on to college, falling in love, and most of all starting a family. The adventure of being a parent is the greatest suffer of them all and is the most difficult yet fulfilling role in life. While watching your children grow up into the fine adults they depart be is rewarding, it is also tough to see them go and render their own lives and adventure. Lorna Dee Cervantes expresses this in her poem, Emplumada, using nature such as flowers, fruit and birds to show what a generate imagines her adult childrens lives will entail. In this poem Cervantes conveys a mother whom afterward realizing that her children have become adults begins to imagine what life adventures lies ahead for them.
In the kickoff stanza Cervantes expresses through imagery and anthropomorphism how a mother was sad to see that her children had left her, as they have with child(p) into adults. The notion that these flowers represent children, comes from her use of anthropomorphism and imagery of the flowers detail, the leaves of snapdragons fall / taking their shrill-colored mouths with them (2-3).



Cervantes gives the human quality of a mouth to the petals of a snapdragon (which look like lots of piffling mouths) and the mouth is say as being shrill which means screaming.
