He does this by acting like them for example he wearswhite clothes in any case he likes it in England and to stay there.Island Man is about a certain immigrant who lives in Neasdon, inLondon. He has a dream about light up in his own land in theCaribbean Sea, hearing the well of the sea. This immigrant does notlike London and prefers living back home in the Caribbean. The poem iswritten in one lon g dialect.There is moreover one similarity in the theme of both poems. They both arepoems about a certain person who is different to society. Old Fatheris about a black man living in England denying his rootThat dont like serving black people.This emphasises that, he has changed into someone different, someonewho he is not. It also suggests that he is move to impersonate awhite man. Another direction he does this, is by insulting black peopleAnd he shoot joke with them white people on we.This suggests that he is showing them that he is not a black man. Hemay look like one, but in his own mind he is not. In my opinion, Iwould say he loves living in London. In Old Father we realise that he lovesEnglandHis roots have no meaning now. So he likes it in England and doesnt want to leave England. He hasalso forgotten who he is. We also see that he has changed intosomeone differentColoured girls no good for he.This shows that he has totally changed into someone different, as heis slanting and not going out with coloured girls.
