When comic books emerged there were negative reactions from many political leaders. The main argument was that adolescents who read comics were more in all likelihood to act in a delinquent manor. This argument in conclusion led to the creation of the Comics Code Authority. The CCA was established to overlook the fruit of comics to ensure that the content was morally acceptable.
