Have you ever look forward to going approximatelyplace and been really excited but non
knowing what to look to? Fortunately I had this experience a few historic period ago. My
experience changed my whole perception of the world around and the plurality
who have lived before me.
I suppose you are wonder what this life changing experience was. It was
2006, third year of school. I went on a history trip to the landmarks of world war1.
This took me to a range of different places in France and Belgium. Cells and
Shooting post at Poperinge, Vimey Ridge, the Somme, Lochnager crater, Ulster
Tower, Ypers, Tyne Cot Cemetery, Langermark Cemetery, Mein Gate and
Thiepval memorial.
To get to France I had to take on a hell of a journey. Ten instants to Dover and 1
hour on a ferry. Time seemed neer cultivation as each minute felt like an hour and
every hour like a day. To sit on a bus and be the only person awaken was quite
horrendous. I dont know what it was I just couldnt sleep. Was I too excited or
was it just the pure discomfort of a cramped bus. all time I nearly got to sleep
it was time to impede at a gas station and go for a walk. For me this was the worst
thing you could do. Walk kayoed of a strait-laced warm bus into the bitter night. That
certainly woke me up every time.



At the time what I couldnt understand was that
how some people at every stop drank coffee and all the same could sleep.
The ferry felt like luxury. Im not the smallest person so for me to be able to
stretch out felt good.
When we finally got to the first site Poperinge. It was very large for me to stand in a small damp, dark and unconsolable cell. With the knowledge that many men had spent there dying night on earth waiting to get accident in the morning. It so incomparable how could one man wittingly sentence another man from his own side to extend for simply being scared. I know I could never shot another man ever. Never mind the circumstances.
